Punch Scissors

These little scissors are just the cutest thing!!

I can see these on Christmas packages to fellow scrapbookers, paper crafters, or quilters...

Here is the tutorial to make these little beauties...

Punches you will need are:
Word Window
1 inch Circle Punch
3/4 inch Circle Punch
1/16 inch hand-held punch

Other supplies needed:
(Real) Scissors
Tombo Multi-purpose glue

Basic Black
Brushed Silver

Step 1: Punch two 3/4 inch Circle Punches in Basic Black

Step 2: Using the 1 inch punch, center it over the original 3/4 inch punch

Use just the black rings

Step 3: Punch 2 strips of Basic Black using the Word Window Punch

Step 4: Punch 2 strips of Brushed Silver using the Word Window Punch

This is what you should have punched out.

Step 5: Using Tombo Multi-purpose glue, apply a small amount to the end of the Brushed Silver punchout to adhere the black strip. Make sure they are nice and straight, AND the same size!

Step 6: Snip off 1/2 inch from the two black strips

Step 7: Apply a small amount of Tombo Multi-purpose glue to the black ends of the strips

Double check to make sure they are the same size.

Step 8: Punch holes in the middle of the strips, using the 1/16 inch hand held punch

They should look like this...

Step 9: Assemble both side together using a brad

Taaadaaaa!! CUTE as a BUTTON!!

Business Card Holder .... OR..... Trinket Box

I'm thinking that this little box is great for just about anything small!
It holds business cards PERFECTLY!
And I just LOVE these colors!!

The box itself is cut from Chocolate Chip (using 1/2 sheet of 12 x 12 card stock) and the DSP is Chocolate Chip and Old Olive.

TOOLS needed:
- Large Oval Punch
- Scallop Oval
- Sticky Strip
- Bone folder (optional)

When you get your kit, the #2 box will already be cut out for you.

You will need to fold on all the score lines... except the "lid" unless, of course, you want to use this as a gift box, instead of a business card holder.

Place sticky strip along the tab on the side of the box. (As close to the score line as possible without going over.)

Place a small piece of sticky strip on the small square flaps on the "inside" of the box. UNLESS.. you are using this for a trinket box.
(Click on picture to enlarge for a better view)

Use the large oval punch on the center of "lid" of box. A little more towards the edge.. (but not too close)

Punch the Large Oval on the Very Vanilla cardstock.

Put the 'punched' Very Vanilla in the Oval Punch, and position it so that it punches out a thin frame.
(See next picture)

Click to enlarge picture for a better view.

Assemble side of box to tab making sure the top and bottom lines up perfectly.

ASSEMBLY of bottom flaps.

Fold in largest bottom flap first

Fold in side flaps

Until they "click" into the first flap.

Tuck last flap into first flap.

Box will stay shut without any other adhesive.. If you want to make sure you can add a small piece of sticky strip to the last flap going before pushing into box.

Remove sticky strip from side tabs

And secure them to inside of box.

Side flaps tucked in and taped down

Apply two-way glue or other adhesive to oval frame

Attach to oval in box lid

Adhere and center Chocolate Chip designer series paper onto Old Olive DSP.

Leaving Old Olive edge showing on both sides of Chocolate Chip DSP.

First postion DSP around box and pinch the corners to give you an
idea of where to fold.

Use bone folder on all corners of DSP.

Apply Snail Adhesive and position on box front first

Wrapping around entire box and securing it in the back with snail adhesive.

Finish box with a piece of 5/8 inch Old Olive grograin ribbon. (Which will be included in your kit)

Insert your business cards (or other small trinkets)

and... DISPLAY your business cards in your art work!

Necessary Punches:

Large Oval
Small Oval
3/4" Circle punch
1/2" Circle punch
1/8" Circle punch
Flower punch (I used Spring Flower Bouquet-SU retired)
(Actually any small flower punch will work)

Corner rounder

Punch out all of the following pieces:
1 Large oval - main color
1 Large oval - contrasting color
2 small ovals - main color
2 small flowers - main color
2 3/4" circles - main color
2 1/2" circles - white
2 1/8" circles - basic black

Cut strip of main color 2" x 5"

Score long strip on 2" and 3"

This part is optional, but I think it looks nice if done.
Round all 4 corners

Round corners on center section by folding it on the score lines,

and corner punching all four sides

Your 5" x 1 1/2" strip should look like this after corner punching the middle:

Add Small Oval punches for froggies legs.
Make sure they bow out!

Flip frog over, and stamp some spots.
On this one I used Versamark.

Add contrasting Large Oval for froggies belly

Add Large Oval for head

Add 3/4" circles to BACK-SIDE of froggie head.

For the eyes, add 1/2" Whispter white circles with 1/8" black circles.

Draw on a froggie type mouth (make it a big one!!)

Add glue to adhere the "feet"
Make sure that only half of them are glued down.

Add a long strip of Snail Adhesive, and put Hershey nugget in the center.
ALSO... add some mini glue dots to the end to help hold it together.

Make sure the glue dots hold firmly... others that I've done without glue dots tend to pop apart!!
